1. Who we are
Aurenza Lifestyle Pvt. Ltd. (“Aurenza”, “we”, “us”) is a company registered in India with its registered office at 14 Turner Road, Bandra West, Mumbai 400050, Maharashtra. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy, which means we decide why and how it is used.
Our atelier and blending house, Aurenza Parfums SARL, 8 Rue des Consuls, 06130 Grasse, France, acts as our representative for data-protection matters in the European Union. Where an EU or UK data-protection authority needs to correspond with us, it may do so through that entity.
For any question about this policy or about your data, write to our privacy team at privacy@aurenza.com or by post to the Mumbai address above, marked for the attention of the Data Protection Officer.
2. What data we collect
We collect only what is needed to sell you a fragrance and to support you afterwards. The categories are:
- Identity and contact data — name, email address, telephone number and, where you hold an account, your chosen password (stored only as a one-way hash).
- Delivery data — shipping and billing addresses, and any delivery instructions you give us.
- Order data — the fragrances you bought, order value, payment status and tracking numbers. We never receive or store your full card number.
- Correspondence — the content of emails, chat messages and returns requests you send to client care.
- Preference data — the fragrances you add to a wishlist, and whether you have opted in to marketing.
We do not collect special-category data such as health information, and we ask that you do not send it to us. We do not build behavioural advertising profiles and we do not buy data about you from third parties.
3. Lawful basis for processing
Data-protection law requires us to have a lawful basis for each use of your data. We rely on the following:
- Performance of a contract — to take your order, process payment, deliver the parcel and handle a return or refund.
- Legitimate interests — to prevent fraud, to keep our records accurate, to answer your enquiries and to improve the service, balanced against your rights.
- Legal obligation — to keep tax, accounting and customs records for the periods the law requires.
- Consent — to send you marketing emails or to place a non-essential cookie. You may withdraw consent at any time.
4. Cookies and tracking
This website is a static demonstration built to show the Aurenza design and shopping experience. It runs no analytics, no advertising pixels, no heat-mapping and no third-party trackers of any kind. There is nothing to consent to and no cookie banner, because no tracking cookie is set.
The only browser storage used is your device’s local storage, and only to remember your cart and wishlist between visits. That data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us or to anyone else. Clearing your browser storage removes it.
On the live shop, strictly necessary cookies would be used to keep your session and cart secure. Those cookies are exempt from consent because the site cannot function without them. Any non-essential cookie would be set only after you opt in, and you could change that choice at any time in the site footer.
5. Sharing with processors
We share data only with organisations that help us run the shop, and only to the extent each one needs. These are our processors, and they act on our written instructions:
- Payment providers, to authorise and settle your payment.
- Courier and logistics partners, to deliver your parcel and provide tracking.
- Our email and hosting providers, to operate the site and send transactional messages.
- Our accountants and auditors, where required by law.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for others to advertise to you. We may disclose data where we are legally required to, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
6. International transfers
Aurenza is based in India and ships worldwide, so your data may be transferred to and stored in countries other than your own. Where data moves out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we put in place a lawful transfer mechanism — standard contractual clauses approved by the relevant authority, or an equivalent safeguard — and we assess the destination’s protections before the transfer.
Our customer records are held primarily in India and in the European Union. You may ask us for a summary of the safeguards that apply to a particular transfer by writing to the privacy team.
7. Retention periods
We keep data only for as long as we need it, and then delete or anonymise it. The periods below are the standard ones; a legal dispute or a tax enquiry may require us to keep specific records longer.
| Category | Retention |
|---|---|
| Order and transaction records | 8 years from the end of the financial year, as required for tax and customs |
| Account details | Until you close the account, then 30 days |
| Marketing consent and preferences | Until you withdraw consent, plus a suppression record to honour it |
| Enquiries and correspondence | 2 years from the last message |
| Website local storage (cart, wishlist) | On your device only, until you clear it |
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have some or all of the following rights. We honour them for everyone, regardless of location, and we do not charge a fee for a reasonable request.
- Access — a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction — correction of data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Erasure — deletion of data we no longer have a lawful reason to keep.
- Portability — the data you gave us, in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Objection — to processing based on our legitimate interests, including profiling.
- Restriction — a pause on processing while a dispute about accuracy is resolved.
- Withdrawal of consent — at any time, without affecting processing already carried out.
To exercise any of these, write to privacy@aurenza.com from the address linked to your order, or use the contact form. We respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to your local data-protection authority; in the EU you may also contact our Grasse representative.
9. Marketing preferences
We send marketing email only where you have asked for it, for example when you join the house list. Every message carries a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. We keep a minimal suppression record so that we can be sure not to contact you again.
Transactional messages — order confirmation, dispatch, delivery and refund notices — are part of the contract and are sent regardless of your marketing preference. You can update your marketing choice at any time in your account settings.
10. Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored on access-controlled systems. Access is limited to staff who need it for their role, and every account uses multi-factor authentication. Payment card details are handled by our payment provider and never reach our servers.
We test our systems and keep written procedures for responding to a breach. If a breach occurs that is likely to affect your rights, we will tell you and the relevant authority without undue delay.
11. Children
Our shop is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and we do not market fragrance to children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact the privacy team and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect a change in our practice or in the law. The date at the top of the page always shows the current version. Where a change is material, we will tell account holders by email before it takes effect.
