Aurenza Lifestyle · Est. Grasse 2019

Ninety days in the dark, then a bottle.

Aurenza Lifestyle is a maison de parfum built around a slow idea: that a composition should be judged at hour eight, not the first minute. We blend by hand in Grasse, mature for ninety days, and bottle in batches small enough to sign.

The founding · Grasse, 2019

A converted perfume organ and one stubborn idea.

In the spring of 2019 we took over a former perfume organ on the edge of Grasse — three rooms, a north-facing window, and a bench long enough to lay out ninety raw materials at once.

There was no launch campaign and no investor. The first forty flacons of what became Noir Absolu were given to friends who agreed to report back at the eighth hour. Most of them still wear it.

The ninety days

What happens between blending and bottling

Maceration is not a marketing interval. It is the difference between a formula and a fragrance — the stage where alcohol and oil marry and the composition settles into its final shape.

Day 00 · Blending

Weighed, in order of smell

The concentrate is weighed on a precision balance and combined in the order the materials will be smelled — never alphabetically. The formula is fixed before a single drop is diluted.

Day 30 · Resting

Sealed in amber glass

The blend is closed and left in a dark room held at 18°C. The alcohol and the oil begin to marry; the sharp edges of the opening soften by a measurable degree.

Day 60 · Filtering

Chilled, then filtered twice

Brought down to −4°C and passed twice through cellulose. This removes the waxes that would otherwise cloud the flacon in cold weather and shorten its life on skin.

Day 90 · Bottling

Filled, signed, numbered

Filled and sealed by hand. No batch is bottled before the ninetieth day — which is why four compositions sell out most seasons and restock slowly.

The perfumer

Élise Vaugirard, who works from materials, not trends.

Élise spent eleven years in the composition laboratories of Grasse before joining Aurenza. She works from a materials library rather than a mood board, and refuses to begin a formula until she can describe its base out loud — the part that will still be on your collar tomorrow.

Anyone can make the first twenty minutes beautiful. The work is in hour eight, when the flowers are gone and only the structure is left.

Draped light across a rose-toned set — the perfumer's bench

We would rather make four hundred flacons properly than forty thousand quickly.

Sourcing & sustainability

A short supply chain, and materials we can name.

Oud comes from a single plantation in Assam. Rose is a CO₂ extract from Kazanlak. Sandalwood is plantation-grown and certified. Nothing in the library is animal-derived except beeswax — and nothing is tested on animals at any stage, by us or by a supplier.

Flacons are refillable and packaging is 96% recyclable: paper, board and a magnetic closure, with no plastic film anywhere in the box. Send a flacon back and we will refill it at 20% off.
